Washington, D.C. (October 16, 2018) — The FedFem awards salute high-impact women-owned businesses (WOBs) and executives of the government contracting (govcon) industry; which is one of the most complex and competitive business sectors in the world. This is the first awards program in the DMV that recognizes WOBs and female govcon executives, that are divided in their specific set-asides or sectors that they work in, within the government contracting industry.

“They are mission focused and ready,” says Heather Louise Finch, LeadersNest President. “They positively impact their local communities through philanthropic initiatives, all while, building wonderful businesses, serving their country, protecting U.S. citizens, and driving innovation in healthcare, technology, cybersecurity, construction, and communications. They are inspirational trailblazers that are driven to succeed.”

Winners blend their entrepreneurial courage and federal government support that positively impact the industry, national economy, and the local marketplace. This list is comprised of women whose titles that range from founders, executives, and CEOs of government contracting companies. They collectively generate more than $1.2 billion in annual revenue and employ more than 12,000 individuals.

“I am honored to be a member of the inaugural FedFem class. When I first moved to DC, these types of programs were non-existent.  It’s important that women business owners band together to help each other grow.”  Lilly Harris, President and CEO.
